Our schools are not broken; they are worth investing in.

I am running because I believe our schools are worth investing in.

FCSD #1 has a strong foundation. Our students are accomplishing great things, and our educators and staff are doing important work every day.

My goal is to help preserve what is working, recognize the people who make it work, and thoughtfully address the challenges ahead.

We should be willing to ask:

• What are we doing well?

• Where can we improve?

• What will our students need five or ten years from now?

• How can we make sure every student has an opportunity to succeed?

Graduation should be the beginning of a student's next chapter—not simply the end of high school.

Our schools should help every student understand the opportunities available to them and develop the skills to pursue the path that fits them.

That includes strengthening connections with:

• Local businesses and employers

• Community organizations

• Colleges and universities

• Trade and technical programs

• Apprenticeships and career-training opportunities

• Military and public-service pathways

Students should graduate knowing not only what they learned, but how to apply it in the real world.

Great schools depend on great teachers and staff.

Teachers, paraeducators, administrators, counselors, bus drivers, custodians, coaches, and every other staff member play an important role in creating a successful school environment.

Recruiting and retaining excellent people should be one of the district's highest priorities.

That means working toward a district culture where employees feel:

• Respected and valued

• Supported in their work

• Safe to share ideas and concerns

• Equipped with the resources they need

• Recognized for their contributions

• Able to grow professionally and build meaningful careers

I will advocate for thoughtful investments in our employees while recognizing the financial realities our district faces.

Students cannot learn effectively if they don't feel safe, cared for, and respected.

Building on four simple values:

Safety. Responsibility. Respect. Positivity.

Those values should apply to everyone—students, teachers, staff, administrators, families, and board members.

I will support efforts that:

• Maintain safe physical and emotional learning environments

• Address bullying, harassment, and disruptive behavior appropriately

• Establish clear expectations and consistent accountability

• Teach students responsibility for their choices and actions

• Encourage kindness, respect, and inclusion

• Help students develop the skills to resolve conflict constructively

We can have high expectations and high compassion at the same time.

I believe fiscal responsibility and educational excellence should go hand in hand.

As a board member, I will ask thoughtful questions about:

• How resources are being allocated

• Whether spending is producing meaningful results for students

• Long-term financial sustainability

• Facilities and capital needs

• Compensation and benefits

• Opportunities to collaborate, share resources, and operate efficiently

Being fiscally responsible does not mean simply spending less. It means making thoughtful choices about where our resources can have the greatest impact on students.

A school district is strongest when the people connected to it trust one another and communicate openly.

The school board has an important role to play in listening, not just speaking.

I want to hear from:

• Students

• Teachers and staff

• Parents and caregivers

• Administrators

• Local employers

• Community organizations

• Community members

I will approach board service with curiosity, respect, and a willingness to listen to perspectives that may differ from my own.

Good governance is about asking good questions, seeking good information, listening carefully, and making thoughtful decisions.
